In talking with people about organ donation, a lot of surprising misinformation is shared. People tell us that organ donation will affect the funeral of their loved one; they are too young (you must be 16); they are pretty sure the card in their wallet from 1964 will do the trick; they don’t have time (it only takes 2 minutes); or that they wouldn’t want to upset the family they leave behind. Two years ago, a good friend of Jim and Marah set up a Facebook page where people could post pictures of hearts. The idea was to support Jim, raise his spirits and show him how much we care. Since then, thousands of “heart pictures” have been posted. Somehow, we wish this page wasn’t necessary, but in the meantime, it’s doing its job.
