Organ Donation Myth #2

Even among the super-motivated community that surrounds Jim, we’ve heard people say that they are not eligible to be an organ donor because of some kind of health condition. The truth is, everyone can be an organ donor. A donor’s eligibility is determined by the health care team upon their death. Don’t make any assumptions!!

Everyone should take the two minutes to sign up to be an organ donor. Everyone. Be inspired by Jim’s story.

  1. My heart goes out to Jim and Marah. We lost our 20 year old son in a car accident in 2002 and we were blessed enough to be able to donate his liver and kidneys. Because of that there are 3 people out there now who no doubt would be dead now. I’m not going to lie to you and tell you it was easy. It was the hardest day of our life but we did not hesitate when asked about donation. We hadn’t had that conversation with our son but found out later that he had in fact signed his organ donor card and felt strongly about it. I believe my husband, myself and our two other children are registered but when I went on to check it is only valid for Ontario. We are from Nova Scotia. God bless you both and I will pray for a heart for Jim and I know it will come when the time is right. ❤
